4th of July Burger
Ingredients:
- Grass Fed Ground Beef
- Heirloom tomatoes
- Cheese of your choice (I used Swiss)
- Red Onions (Raw)
- Yellow Onions (for caramelizing)
- Romaine Lettuce
- Buns of your choice
- Ketchup & Mustard for the side
Play by Play:
- Slice your yellow onions in half moons (cut the onion in half and then slice face down) and sauté in a pan with a bit of olive oil on medium low heat, continuously mixing it for about 30 minutes or until browned. Cover the pan with a lid to help the onions cook faster.
- Season your patties with salt and pepper and grill or cook on a hot cast iron pan on the stove. About 3 min on each side for medium rare.
- Lay out all your condiments and sides for everyone to add whatever they like. Lettuce, heirloom tomato slices, red onions, caramelized onions, buns, ketchup & mustard.
