4th of July Burger


  • Grass Fed Ground Beef 
  • Heirloom tomatoes 
  • Cheese of your choice (I used Swiss)
  • Red Onions (Raw)
  • Yellow Onions (for caramelizing) 
  • Romaine Lettuce 
  • Buns of your choice 
  • Ketchup & Mustard for the side

Play by Play:

  1. Slice your yellow onions in half moons (cut the onion in half and then slice face down) and sauté in a pan with a bit of olive oil on medium low heat, continuously mixing it for about 30 minutes or until browned. Cover the pan with a lid to help the onions cook faster. 
  2. Season your patties with salt and pepper and grill or cook on a hot cast iron pan on the stove. About 3 min on each side for medium rare. 
  3. Lay out all your condiments and sides for everyone to add whatever they like. Lettuce, heirloom tomato slices, red onions, caramelized onions, buns, ketchup & mustard.
